Equine Web Ring General Criteria
1.
All new web sites that apply to the web rings must be your own domain name, or a domain registered
to your farm or business ending in .com, .net, .org, .biz, etc. We no longer accept personal home pages or pages hosted on "free"
type web host providers. This does not affect previous members' sites already in the ring.
However, if your site is dropped from the ring for whatever reason, and you reapply, the current criteria will
apply for re-acceptance. These equine web rings do not accept [new]
sites whose web hosting provider requires their site display the host
provider's or third party pop-up advertising banner windows and/or
messages. Sorry, no exceptions.
2.
The web ring code must be displayed on the same page referenced
when submitting the application to join the ring. The web ring code may be
in text format or use the appropriate web ring graphic image. Either style
is perfectly acceptable.
3.
It is the web ring member's responsibility to save their web ring login
information and password, to keep and install a copy of the web ring code,
and to maintain and update their
web ring profile information including any URL and email address changes.
4.
Sites will be reviewed independently for content before being added to
the web ring. The site must be appropriate and suitable for the web ring
it applied to. Sites should be geared toward a general audience that may
include children and minors. All page-to-page web site links must be
functional, images must display correctly, and the page(s) must not take
an excessively long time to load. We do not include sim games or
model horse web sites at this time.
5.
From time to time the web ring 'robot' automatically visits all sites
within the web ring. If the web ring code is not detected, it returns an
error message to the ringmaster. If it is determined that the web ring
code is not present on the page currently listed with the web ring, sites
that are not displaying the web ring code may be removed from the ring at
any time without notice.
6.
The ringmaster may periodically contact ring members by email for
various updates and announcements as they pertain to web ring membership.
This is not spam, nor is this used as a thinly-veiled marketing opportunity.
(We hate spam as much as you do.) If you have a problem receiving emails
regarding the web ring and perceive such efforts to make contact as
spam... please do refrain from joining.
7.
The web ring criteria contained within this web site is subject to change
without notice.
